Hootie-Whoo ~ Baby Owl Quilt

A recent joy for me to make was this DARLING baby quilt.  It was commissioned by a friend, who's grandbaby was on the way & she wanted a special wallhanging for the baby's room.  I looked at the nursery bedding and pondered awhile, and came up with this silly idea.
I had sooo much fun making it! I can't remember the last time I made a baby quilt...and now I remember why I use to make so many of them. They just bring joy - all the bright colors, silly, happy designs, and because they are small,  they are quick & easy to toss together.

Here is Chloe's Hootie Owls Quilt....

Mama Owl

Back

I used 'curls' font for the name, outlined with a button hole stitch.

This picture shows some of the fun freemotion quilting swirls & whirls.

On the back, top 2 corners have a 'pocket' for the hanging rod.

Dragonflies in each corner.

3D leaves added to the tree branch.

Wonky silly baby owl.

Baby Chloe is due in March.  I can't wait to hear how here Mama likes the quilt.
